Edits with us will never silence, change, or edit out your voice. We work with your writing to ensure it shines the way it is meant to. All edits follow the Chicago Manual of Style (18th edition) and Merriam-Webster as guides, but only to polish your voice and style WITHOUT being overwritten.

All pricing is in USD. Minimum $50 project fee.

Absolutely no AI. No exceptions.

What to expect

Every edit with me will be returned with:

Tracked Changes

All edits are made as suggestions in Microsoft Word with the Track Changes feature so you have complete control over what happens to your manuscript. You will get to clearly see every change, accept or reject each suggestion, and review comments. Your manuscript remains yours. You will never be left wondering what changes were made.

Editorial Letter

Every edit will be returned with an editorial letter explaining strengths, opportunities for growth, focus areas, frequent errors, and recommendations. The editorial letter is where I dive into commentary, highlight patterns, and explain suggestion choices. Minimum two pages.

Story Bible/World Wiki

Every edit will receive a comprehensive story bible/world wiki outlining pertinent information to your world and story. This document includes but is not exclusive to character profiles, world-specific flora and fauna, notable items, world-specific language, magic systems (where applicable), and more.

It also includes a style sheet of your preferences for grammar, spelling, and novel-specific information.

Blurb Edit/Rework

Every edit with us includes one free blurb edit. Send us your written blurb, and we’ll edit it or rework it based on your preference.

Guides Used

All edits follow the Chicago Manual of Style (18th edition) and Merriam-Webster as guides with respect to your tone, voice, and writing style.

Line + Copyediting Package

The line + copyediting package is the most cost-effective service for authors looking to work within a budget. It is ideal for manuscripts that have already been through a round of developmental editing or received feedback from critique partners.

Line edits are made with the goal of sharpening your writing by reducing confusing or awkward phrasing, removing repetition or overwriting, and increasing showing (instead of telling).

Copyedits focus on mechanical errors (grammar, spelling, punctuation, correct word choice) and consistency. We will also ensure your characters are abiding by the rules created for their world. This is where we do standardization of spelling (like gray vs grey), hyphenation, numbers, capitalization, and dialogue tags.

What will be addressed:
  • Readability, flow, style, clarity
  • Grammar, structure, syntax, consistency
  • Standardization of spelling, hyphenation, numbers, capitalization
  • Dialogue tags, head-hopping
  • Overwriting, repetition, unnatural phrasing, mistaken words
  • Sentences/scenes may be edited, moved, or removed completely
  • Minor plot or timeline issues

Price: $0.015 per word USD
